Post Event Idea: Red Vs. Blue
After some thinking, with some inspiration from EVE and CoF, I've thought up a new system for player versus player. In EVE, there was this 'clan' of people, who would fight each other for fun. It was called Red vs. Blue. There was no purpose; merely just to have fun. No rules or regulations, just to have fun.

Every weekend, people can register to join Red or Blue in mini-clans. The mini-clans would then head to Alaska and duke each other out. All for fun's sake.

Changed the Title. Sorry if I'm intruding. ~Dojutrek

Unfortunately, implementing this might be a bit harder than you realize, because there are some reputation-related complications.

First of all, you would have to somehow make it so that if the first person joins, say, the Red Team, that several more people, then everyone else, follow that one person's lead in order to be in the bigger team. Meaning you would have to have some sort of system that would balance out the teams and yet leave the players' characters' reputation intact. For instance, you might have to have it where everyone simply signs up, then you pick 2 team captains that pick the members of their teams, with something to compensate the team that doesn't get first pick.

Second of all, and also related to reputations, is that to use a system as simple as Red and Blue, you would have to implement two new reputation groups, then manually edit the reputations and affiliation tags of all participants on a regular basis of...whenever the game is played, then reset them at the end of each game; unless there's a way to implement an alternate frontend or script to Biocross for doing specific stuff like this, I doubt that Fox and whoever else has Biocross control will be very pleased to have to do this.

Also, shouldn't this be in Suggestions?

Bushman bro, we could just try to randomize the teams.

And if I remember correctly, we managed to make Alaska nullify reputation changes.

If we end up not having enough players, we could use bots, if possible.

I'm totally up for this. Bushman I believe you are overthinking the whole deal. Group up and fire at anyone not pink, if you're worried about reps or whatever just don't sign up. Alternatively, set up a server to pvp in and poof, everything is alright.

You're making it much more complicated than it is. People just decide which team they want to be on, and join.
Metadon beat me to it

This isn't a mod suggestion, it's an event suggestion under Church of Flak. CoF is designed around having fun, and Red vs. Blue is about having fun, so therefore, I thought it would be best in here.

I can come up with game mode ideas later, rather than normal team deathmatch, such as station defense. I just want to see if anyone would want to join a fun game of Red vs. Blue

Nice idea, KJ. Very simple and effective for the "Group" format in-game.

I'm giving this idea a green light. Set it up however you see fit.

Sorry about forgetting this. The first Red Vs. Blue will be held during this weekend. I will try to maintain it all day.

Well that was a fail. Not sure why you had to delay it for so long.
